HIGH END LOOK from IKEA

                                                  BOOKSHELVES MAKE THE ROOM
Ikea shelving - BILLY in BLACK.   Each component has two extenders making the shelves just reach the height of the nine foot ceilings, wrapping the northern end of the room. Modified section hides duct work to the second floor. Low voltage lighting and picture lights complete the look.

ISLAND VIEW RAINY LAKE PROPERTY

Cabin Rambler in Northern Minnesota. The kitchen (before) was actually sporting a new paint
finish over the brown prefinished 1960's cabinetry.  A full view french door (custom order from MENARDS) added where the Kitchen sink was placed, now opens up to a deck on the south side of the house.  Stainless appliances including an ITALIAN DISHWASHER (ARISTON) and a WHIRLPOOL counter depth fridge surround a new stainless center island top. Detailed by tonal handmade tile from PRAIRIE TILEWORKS.  Regional TAMARACK flooring with early industrial style track lighting from LOWES completes the look.  WABI SABI on a budget. Adding authenticity to a bland dated kitchen.

GAY FRENCH LUMBERJACK COLLECTION
Alexander Roth wearing a locally made fur.
which BTW has never found a better model.

Little courtyard garden
Boxwood and I get along well here in my front
garden. The heady smell of the first bloom in the
spring and the first snow fall always transport me
to the gardens in France that I know and love.
Sort of a touchstone or memory bank for me.

Small Garden

before and after

Former wood chip dog run became a "petite jardin"
with a bit of structure in the form of boxwoods and
relaying and tightening up the lines of the existing
stonework.  "You changed my life" she said.

English Dome with Dog

This should almost be titled "untitled". I was at a
dear friends estate sale and happened upon this
dome, which I remember fondly sitting on her
dining room table. The dealers from H&B Gallery
(having the sale), had removed the french costumed
doll and horrific dried flowers, so it became a clean
element that just called out for my dear jack russell
Fannie once I got home and wanted test shooting
it. The resin heads from costume designer friend
Jack Edwards sale were my first choice, but they
looked beyond creepy.

 AUTHENTIC LIFESTYLE INSPIRED FURNITURE

GANNON CREEK is a recently formed company I am
creative directing.  It's primarily cedar furniture made by the
Naicatchawenin community on the shores of Rainy Lake, but will
include product design and discovery of needful things in the future.
I shot and styled the shots being used for the web and promotional
materials this past summer.
The logo was created by The talented Kelli @7:30 Thursday.

ROCKS at ATSOKAN ISLAND

Summer at Atsokan Island. This is some of the stone work we all love, done by Joe Miller, the original Swiss caretaker. He left touches all over the island that I appreciate on a daily basis.
And then there are the natural rock formations, which are supposed to be some of the oldest exposed rocks in the world. Even older than the grand canyon if you can believe it.

Craftsmanship at the island

Found these images while working on a website for ATSOKAN ISLAND. Should be up and running soon. God willing and the creek don't rise. Thinking a lot about the craftsmanship that it took to create everything on the island. Guess I need something else to ponder.

FLEA MARKET STYLE

Here is the cover for the spring/summer issue of FLEA MARKET STYLE that is coming out later in the month. Look for the feature on Virginia at Atsokan when it comes out.

SWANKY SWEET PEA

I had the pleasure of meeting RaeAnne Conat over the weekend while she was working her magic in an old bank building in International Falls. She has an amazing line of bath products
which show a great sense of style. Very impressed with her overall look and packaging.
